カップの5 Five of Cups
Waite はカップの5を、マントの人物が倒れた三つの杯を横目に見、背後に二つの杯が立つ図とし、正位置では何かが残る喪失、期待に沿わない相続や継承、苦さを伴う結婚を意味するとしている。逆位置には知らせ、同盟、血縁、祖先、帰還、誤った計画を挙げ、追加の意味では概して好ましく幸福な結婚や遺産、事業の成功を示し、逆位置に長く会っていない親族の帰還を記している。
正位置の意味
これは喪失のカードであるが、何かが残されている。三つは奪われたが、二つは残っている。これは相続、世襲財産、継承のカードであるが、期待には沿わない。一部の解釈者にとっては結婚のカードであるが、苦さや挫折を伴わないわけではない。
