カップのエース Ace of Cups
Waite はカップのエースを、雲から現れた手が四筋の流れの注ぐ杯を掲げ、聖体をくわえた鳩がそこへ降りてくる図とし、正位置では真実の心の家、喜び、満足、滋養、豊穣、聖なる食卓の至福を意味するとしている。逆位置には偽りの心の家、変異、不安定、変革を挙げ、追加の意味では曲げられない意志と変えられない法、逆位置に予期せぬ地位の変化を記している。
正位置の意味
真実の心の家、喜び、満足、住まい、滋養、豊富、豊穣。聖なる食卓〔Holy Table〕、そこから得られる至福。

カードの絵の説明
下方には水があり、その上に睡蓮が浮かんでいる。雲から手が現れ、その掌に杯を載せており、杯からは四筋の流れが注ぎ出ている。十字の印のある聖体〔Host〕をくちばしにくわえた鳩が、その聖餅〔Wafer〕を杯に納めようと降りてくる。水の滴があたり一面に降り注いでいる。これは、小アルカナの背後に潜んでいるかもしれないものの暗示である。

The waters are beneath, and thereon are water-lilies; the hand issues from the cloud, holding in its palm the cup, from which four streams are pouring; a dove, bearing in its bill a cross-marked Host, descends to place the Wafer in the Cup; the dew of water is falling on all sides.
