カップの9 Nine of Cups
Waite はカップの9を、心ゆくまで饗宴を楽しんだ人物の背後に豊富な酒が並ぶ図とし、物質的な側面のみを示す絵だが他の側面もあるとしたうえで、正位置では和合、満足、身体的な安楽、勝利、成功、利益、質問者の満足を意味するとしている。逆位置には真実、忠誠、自由のほか誤りや不完全さを挙げ、追加の意味では軍人にとっての良い前兆と、逆位置に良い商売を記している。
正位置の意味
和合、満足、身体的な安楽〔bien-être〕。また、勝利、成功、利益。質問者、あるいは相談の対象となっている人物にとっての満足。
